The game
Your answers, your score and any first names you type are processed only inside your browser with JavaScript. They are not sent to us or to anyone else and are not stored by us. The PNG score card is created locally on your device.
Links you create: The challenge link contains your first name (if entered), the name of the person you challenge and your 12 answers in scrambled form after the # sign of the address. The result-back link contains both first names and both sets of answers in the same way. Browsers do not send the part after the # to our web server. The scrambling is not encryption: anyone who receives the link could decode it, so only send it to people you trust. The public share link contains only your score, no name and no answers. If you use the WhatsApp, SMS, email, X or share buttons, the app you open receives the link and text you choose to send.
Waitlist form
If you join the waitlist, we process your email address, who would play, your price indication, your optional note and your game score (if you played). We use this to inform you about the launch and to validate pricing (legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, where applicable). Form submissions are received and stored by our hosting provider Netlify, Inc. (Netlify Forms), which processes the data on our behalf for this purpose. Data may be processed in third countries, in particular the USA. Details: Netlify privacy policy. We also store the referral source (the ref or utm_source parameter of the link you used, e.g. "x-launch", "share", "partner" or "partner-back"), so we know which channel works.
Hosting and CDNs
This website is hosted by Netlify (Netlify, Inc., San Francisco, USA). When you visit, Netlify processes technically necessary data (e.g. IP address, time, requested page including the part of the address before the # sign, browser) in server logs (legitimate interest in secure operation, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (Google LLC) and the CSS framework Tailwind from cdn.tailwindcss.com. When this happens, your IP address is sent to these providers. Links to sources (for example Wikimedia Commons) only transfer data when you click them.
No cookies, no tracking
We set no cookies, use no local storage and no analytics, tracking pixels or advertising tools.
Retention
We keep waitlist data until you withdraw your consent or the project is discontinued, whichever comes first.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection and withdrawal of consent at any time, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. An email to alex@kapitalexperte.com is enough.
